my daughter loves horses so I bought this its way to easy for her to ready but she loves the pictures anyways
My 2 year old LOVES this entire series of Nat. Geo Readers... I have purchased about 25 different titles, "pre-readers" as well as Level 1 & 2 readers. She loves them all & will ask for certain ones. The "pre-readers" level books are extremely simple & great because she memorizes the words & can "read" it herself. We love the more advanced ones too, because there is more information to talk about. I have learned quite a few facts, myself!) What a great series. The price is reasonable & pictures are great. These are really getting her interested in nature, animals & science... I will continue to buy these as they are released, for our collection!
My 2 year old son loves this book. He is intrigued by horses, so I thought I would take the opportunity to try to teach him a little bit about them in a nonfiction book. He listens to me read it to him and likes looking at the photos and kisses the pony photos. I know a lot of it is over his head, but I like exposing him to nonfiction books to help teach him things here and there. I really like all of the National Geographic Kids books.
Ponies are FUN! Cute, interesting and engaging little book that keeps the Grandkids entertained. Nice way to keep them happy and exercise their brains. A good way to encourage Imagination and learn new things in the process...that's is always a good thing!
Great pictures and good quality. My son loves to look through it. Pretty quick read for the young ones. My son stays captivated through about half of it before his two year old mind is off to the next book.
My two year old granddaughter likes to read this book. She does prefer grown horses, so having a lot of "baby" horses, as she calls them, gets old after awhile. But, she keeps going back to read this book along with a few other horse books she has.
Full of lots of facts and fun for the kids. These are my favorite books. We spend lots of time talking about the information but the book isn't too long.
My toddler can't read yet but loves the horse photos in this book. I like that there are lots of little features to read aloud, like how to care for a pet pony. A fun book!
I picked up this little paperback for my girlfriend's 4-year-old during a brief visit I paid them. She had me read it to her two or three times and loved all the pictures. When I was a kid, I had a subscription to zoobooks, and I learned so much from them I was hoping to find a suitable alternative for this kiddo. National Geographic isn't quite as good as I remember Zoobooks to be, but it does pretty well.
