I've read a lot of Ashley as well as JaQuavis ' books so I never look for a happy ending but this one right here really got on my nerves! First off druglords don't roll like Ethic nor Benjamin, they protect their families at all costs, always have muscle around and normally aren't caught slipping when they are the main man! I have to agree it started off like The Coldest winter Ever, Raven was silly just like Wynter and this one was very unrealistic. I struggled through it only because I'm told Ethic wb much better although I know there won't be a happy ending in those either! I think I will read something else first. This one didn't do it for me Ashley! Not understanding all the hype!
I dont even know where to begin! I read this serious in reverse... And I must say its the best thing Ive done! Ethic is amazing, mysterious, & death all wrapped up in one! I am convinved that he is the flame! It is like he gets his Karma back through the women he loves! His heart is so pure & unrelenting yet Karma is the exact opposite... I cant wait to read Ethic II... My sympathy for Raven is very little because being young, naive & selfish will get you exactly what she got. As young girls we think we know everything. But some of us learn faster than others! To turn her back on her family was the straw.... And yes I understand domestic violence is real, I just hate that we get so blinded! This Book is simply Amazing!
On FB there was a post that said what books have you in your feelings and this book was one of them. This book did not disappoint. There were a lot of twists and turns which would leave you to thinking what would I have done. This book is definitely a collectors item that I will share with my daughter when she is of age. Great job!
The power of family love that was revealed and the failure & betrayal that cursed and cost so many people's trouble and down falls.This book was powerful and heart felt. I cried and smiled and was constantly pressed as I read more and more.The action and caractors became visual all through every chapter.I was so sad of how it ended.I only hope this next few books are equally or even more power packed with some more great page turning power & more action packed reading ...I have enjoyed your books.I am downloading the next book now.Ethic....Can't wait to see what's inside!Keep them books coming!God Bless.BMJ Sylvia Jacobs
"Moth To A Flame" is a book about a teenage girl who tried too hard to grow up too fast, in a world that shows no love to the naive. Raised in a house, with a notorious 'KingPin' for a daddy, she was eager to live the life she had become accustomed to, on her own terms. The sad part is that she was not mature enough to handle the grown-up decisions she made. Consequently, she paid for it every step of the way.Ashley Antionette does an great job penning a novel about the realities of adolescence and "the streets". The tale was nicely woven and she kept it interesting. I read the book in 8 hours, flat. It was not the ultimate page-turner but it kept my attention, for sure. The book has a nice flow and she didn't overdo the story line, at all.Rating: 4 StarsThe book gets 4 stars because I struggled with images of the characters in my mind. When reading, I like to form a picture in my mind about the characters...where they live..how they dress, etc. I never did that with this novel. I read to the end, not really knowing what any of the characters looked like-with the exception of Ethic (which came late in the novel). The thing that REALLY snagged the 5th star was the ending....which was NOT good. The ending felt rushed and incomplete. Things occurred that could have realistically been avoided. It seemed like she Ashley was just trying to end the novel. An uunfinished ending to a good book is NOT GOOD FOR ME AT ALL!Recommendation: If you like a good 'Street/Urban Fiction' novel, Get it! Read it for yourself! It's worth it!I am familiar with Ashley and JaQuavis but this is Antoinette's first solo novel.JOB WELL DONE, ASHLEY!Reading On....'BlessedBookCritic'
This book tugged at my heart during the entire story ... the abuse that Raven suffered at the hand of her so called "man" was unspeakable but I am so glad he received in the end just what he dished out!!!The ending had me in tears ... I would love to read Ethic's journey as a single parent of three ... Will he ever find love??? ... Will he ever fully retire from the game???
I have to say I agree with a lot of the reviews on this one. Nobody can deny that this was a fast paced page Turner however, it was too similar to The coldest winter ever. Raven was a dumber version of winter, ethic was midnight, Benjamin was santiaga, even the mother had the same fate. A lot of reviewers felt that raven was so dumb it was unrealistic and I might have agreed if I hadn't been through it personally with my own teenage daughter. Girls that young in love are a dangerous thing. Their young hearts are just not ready to handle or even see the manipulation of a grown ass man. Heck a lot of grown woman are manipulated and blinded by love so imagine a kid. That part I got. My complaint was again in ashley and jaquavis fashion by the time you get vested in their characters, they kill them off. I appreciated the fact that raven was finally growing up and trying to get a clue but just when you started to root for her, here they go!! All in all though, I did enjoy the book and I would recommend it to others.
This book broke my heart 💔. It was a Domino effect & definitely consequences behind Raven’s actions. Raven’s father gave them EVERYTHING & she choose a man who only used a manipulated her. Her level of maturity was baffling & I can’t belive it took her so long to wake! Ethic! My man! He demanded respect without saying anything! I love that he didn’t accept Ravens advances until later in life!
