Attached to this review will be a silent flip-through of the entire coloring book and some photos so you can make an informed decision as to whether or not it will work for you.This is a beautiful coloring book based on the HBO series. There are a total of 35 designs (many of them are two page spread designs.) It is in a much larger format than most other coloring books at 11.5 x 11.75 inches. The designs are by artists Allan Jefferson and Adriana Melo and are based on photographs from the series. The styles of the two artists mesh well making it a very seamless looking book of elegant and well-drawn illustrations.The subjects of the designs are noted on the far left and right margins, so if you don't recall who/what, it is there to remind you. The designs themselves are quite detailed and have many intricate and small areas to color. Because of this detail and intricacy, it is not a book that I would recommend to anyone with fine motor or vision issues.The book has the same lush elegance I have found in the cinematography of the series. Both my husband and I have our own copies so we can each enjoy coloring the wide variety of designs. I think it is an excellent coloring book for fans of the series while at the same time equally great for others who don't watch the series but like the fantasy aspect and the elegant artwork.What I didn't like was how many of the designs spread across two pages. In my book, a number of those pages didn't line up very well. I still really like the book but that issue keeps me from loving it.This is what I experienced while coloring in this book and testing it with my coloring medium:35 Game of Thrones inspired designs from the HBO series22 of those designs spread across two pages and have elements which cross into the bindingPrinted on both sides of the pagePaper is white, heavyweight, slightly rough and non-perforatedSewn binding (several pages can be removed at a time by snipping the threads.)Alcohol-based markers bleed through the paperWater-based markers, India ink pens and gel pens did not bleed through nor did I have discernible shadows on the back of the page.Colored pencils worked very well with this paper. I tested both oil and wax based pencils with good results. I was able to get good, deep pigment. I could layer easily (both same and different colors.) Blending was also excellent using a pencil style blending stick.
This book is fantastic. The artwork appears to be computer generated line art from actual stills and photographs from the TV series. So many of my favorite characters are included and there are also great depictions of King's Landing, Winterfell and Braavos. The book is also very large (11.5 x 11.6 inches), for comparison it is larger than Johanna Basford's books, Animorphia and the Daria Song books by about an inch on each side. The paper is a slightly off white, smooth light cardstock style. I only use colored pencils so I can't speak to whether markers would bleed through but the paper is very similar to the other better quality books I have. The pictures are printed on both sides of the page, with quite a few double page spreads. My only, only gripe is that with the double page spreads sometimes the subject is very close to the center (for instance in the picture of Daenerys with the Unsullied Army, Dany's shoulder is right in the crease). Very slightly annoying but the pictures are so great I'm more than willing to overlook that. The book also contains depictions of Ned Stark, Jon Snow, Arya Stark, Sansa Stark, Tyrion Lannister, Cersei Lannister, Jaime Lannister, Melisandre, Brienne, The Hound and Oberyn Martell and others, as well as castles, the Night's Watch, and the Night King with his army of White Walkers. If you are a fan of this series I couldn't recommend this book any more highly!

The drawings, while fairly intricate, have areas that you can't tell what's what, like where sky meets trees and land, it's all jumbled and loosely rendered. It looks like someone scanned a photo and used a photoshop filter to make a line drawing out of it.
The designs are beautiful, but they are almost all two pages, with the focal point (center) of the design right in the crease of the spine, making it difficult both to color and truly appreciate. Flawed layout. Disappointed.
For those of you who got the first Game of Thrones coloring book and complained that the images were not of people from the HBO series, here's your book with the images like what you would expect from the show. This book is huge in comparison to my other books like Johanna Basford and Millie Marotta. The paper is white, fairly thick and good for colored pencils. I have only tested colored pencils (because that is mainly what I use) and the paper allows for several layers of color without issue. The images are on two sides of the paper and there are some double page spreads that go right into the gutter. The style of the lines for the images are much like the first official Game of Thrones coloring book. If you aren't sure please make sure to check the Look Inside feature and see what I mean. All in all I am pretty pleased with the book and only took off one star for the images going into the gutter.I will add pictures of the pages I have completed with time.
This is a really nice coloring book. The only problem is that I'm used to really simple, rather juvenile coloring books, which do not require a lot of detail work or shading. For me, a completed page on this coloring book looks really lame unless you have an eye for detail. It's also bigger than the average coloring book (and square). I bought it because I am completely obsessed with Game of Thrones, but when I started the first page, I discovered the style really isn't for me.It seems strange to say this about a coloring book, but I would term this one "not for beginners," in that it requires more than simply drawing inside the lines to look decent. For me, it was less relaxing than the coloring books I usually get, and unfortunately went back on the shelf unfinished.
