Ross goes in further detail as he discusses historical context of how society has gotten to this point; as he also gives readers solutions and ways on how to move forward from these systematic disadvantages.Group effort and team work will be the only way to move forward for African American people, and Ross hopes to get these thoughts out to inspire an intellectual revolution. This book kept me on the edge of my seat and offered a unique perspective to the black plight. It not only highlighted the challenges that many blacks face because of racism, but it also underlined the challenges we face because of the actions of one another. It clearly illustrated the simple fact that we affect each other; black or white. Outstanding work by the author! Can hardly wait to order my next book by Mr. Williams!

I appreciated the transparency displayed by the author regarding all types of racism. This novel was an easy read and gave me many moments suspenseful moments in which you really will absolutely have to know what happened next before placing your book mark. The author also gave some bonus wisdom regarding history. All in all loved it!
Ross really has a informative yet comical form of storytelling that makes you want to read more! I really enjoyed how Williams attacked a popular colloquialism in society today and directed the reader’s attention to the barrel and not the crabs. From the history lessons given throughout this book to the heartfelt stories that help you empathize with the characters, this book will leave you wanting to make an impactful change for the next generation. I had my hopes up before reading this book and I must say I was not let down in the least bit. The raw, detailed descriptions of all too common struggles of African Americans made this book so much more relatable. I also loved the fact that it wasn't the predictable fairy tale ending. So many twists and turns that are so close to real life. The story makes you think about the things going on around us in the world today and honestly, this book is a complete home run. Job well done! Everyone should read!!!
